The way how Jess's family celebrate Christmas and my family is totally different. Except for one point which is the same. Which is, we both exchange gifts to our family.

For Jess's family, they only exchange gift and for the rest of the day, they will just do their own things instead of spending their time with their family. But for my family, we will go out for shopping or we would do some activities that could bond us together. Though we do not eat food like Log Cakes, Turkey, but in the night, they will open wines and crackers to celebrate and chit-chat.

During Christmas, I seldom celebrate it with my friends but only wish them a "Merry Christmas" because most of us are spending the time with our family. But for Jess, he at least managed to spend time with Leslie and even gave her a puppy as her present.

The diffrences that both our families have is that Jess's family is not very bonded while my family is very bonded as we will spend time together.

My family and Jess' family celebrated Christmas in different ways . Firstly , my parents won't just give me a dollar and ask me to buy my own things , they were very circumspection and noticed what i liked for that period of time . I think it is more meaningful than just give you a dollar. It could let me felt that , my parents were cared for me a lot .

Secondly , we paid high attention to the festival although it's a western festival . We will decorated the house a few days before Christmas , so that the house has a atmosphere of festival . And we will bought many things for the Christmas a few days before , unlike Jess' , they bought it only one day before Christmas.

Thirdly , We will carry out some activities on Christmas . Unlike Jess' family ,where they treated Christmas like normal day without . A festival without any activity will be very boring , and the children will lost the interest of celebrating of Christmas.

I like the way my family celebrat Christmas , it not only accelerate the relationship between me and my relatives , but also bond my family members together like a whole.

The difference between my family and Jess' family is that Jess' family will celebrate christmas by giving present only, they don't really pay attention on christmas but easter!

In my family, christmas was one of the most celebrated festival , we will hung christmas stocking on the door and make our wishes on the night before christmas.During the day of christmas,we will open our present and we will eat ham and turkey for christmas. We will also put christmas tree in our living room, we will put stars and small cookies on the christmas tree~

Also the easter is most celebreted in Jess' family. They will buy new clothes and they will go to church with the family members,Easter is almost same as new year, just one is western and one is mostly for chinese.. But my family don't celebrate easter at all,i don't konw when is easter:)

In respective order: Oranges, Goodies and Longevity noodles.

Every year's Chinese New Year, my family would go back to Malaysia to celebrate as all my releatives are there. When we reached our grandparent's house, there would be lots of goodies on the table brought back by all of us and we would all start to eat them as they are all very delicious. On the first day of CNY, we would wear our nicest clothes and go about visiting our relatives and friends with oranges. But before we step out of the house, we would have to eat a vegetarian 'Longevity Noodle' cooked by our grandmother in the morning as it represents that we have already grown up by a year. My grandmother's cooking are very delicious and we could even eat many bowls of it!

In the evening, me and my cousins will go to the nearby beach to play with kites, build sandcastles and even play with water and that brought us back to our childhood times. When we went back home, we would have our reunion dinner. The food there are all homecooked food and that gave me a sense of warmth in the family as no outside food can be compared to homecooked food. I think that reunion dinner is very meaningful as for families like ours where the whole family is being seperated the whole year, this reunion dinner can bond us more together and strengthen the bond within us. Usually after dinner, the adults would gamble a little while children like us would entertain oursleves by playing games, watching television or playing firecrackers. But now, firecrackers are banned and hence we cannot play it anymore.

But back in Singapore, the holidays we have compared to Malaysia is much lesser. They have 1 week of hoilday while we only have 2 days. But though the holidays are short, but the best thing is that you can get to spend it with your loved ones.

When i was in China, few years ago . Every year during Christmas , my mother will

set up the Big Christmas tree that my father bought for me with Colorful

    ornaments hanging on it .

And when we walked along the road , we could saw many colourful and nice

Christmas trees , and hear that they all were playing the cheerful Christmas song .

Since Christmas is in winter,my hometown was extreme cold . When i stepped out

of my house , i could saw many Snowflakes dancing all over the sky ,like

a beautiful dancer. Then i will begged my father to play snowball fight with me .

Every year,i don't have to say anything , my family members will bought me

something . Sometimes was cloth ; sometimes was toy or doll ; and sometimes was

    stationary...

On the Christmas day ,We will gathered together with my relatives and played

some card game or even went out for party , as there were many people at the

street to countdown . After that , we will shared some ghost stories tilled late

    night.

I love Christmas , as i got a lot of presents and could also get to play with many

    people , it's really fun.

The similarity between of celebration between Jesse's family and mine is tat both family exchange gifts and make or buy new clothes. When Jesse's family celebrated Chirstmas, they exchang gifts jus like my family when we celebrated Chinese New Year when we exchange greetings, blessings red packets and mandrian oranges. (difference)Jus tat the things exchanged are different. When Jesse's family celebrated Easter, they had to buy cloths and make new clothes jus like my family when we shop for new clothes for Chinese New Year.

The very obvious difference is that the festival celebrated is different and the origin of the fstival is also different as Chinese New Year is from the eastern(Chinese) while Chirstmas and Easter are from the western.

My family and jess's family are totally different.Jess's family would celebrate Easter by buying clothes and by going to chuch but my family dont. Normally when it's easter, my mum would ask my bro and i to do eggs, easter eggs. Then we would usually do until our hands are full of paint. Then when we are small, we would touch each other's face with our painted hands. We have lots of kinds of easter egg, each totally different from one another. There would be a smiley face, a sad face or maybe an angry face.Thats how we celebrate christmas. We would not buy new clothes or go to church. Firstly we are not christians and secondly, we only buy lots of new clothes in chinese new year and not easter. In my mind before i read about how jess celebrated easter, my thoughts about easter is only the easter egg we would make and totally have no idea that in other country it is almost lik our chinese new year. That's all(:

Every single year without fail, my family and my god family would celebrate christmas together.
Normally, we would meet at my god brother's house and started partying till late night. We would normally have lots of foods, junk food - pizza, chips, chicken wings, satay and lots more. Not forgetting, also drinks. My god brother's family would usually make home made barley for us. Then each and everyone of us would contribute a little to the party. My godmother would cook the most. She would cook fried beehoon, fried rice, chicken wings etc. ( Her chicken wings really rocks...) Then my mum would contribute " wu siang" which is a kind of food, which is deep fried and long and there are fillings wrap inside. Not for showing off but my mum made the best " wu siang" i ever had in my 14 years of life. Then sometimes, there would also be cakes and puddings. We would hang out there, chit chat, watching specials movies showed on chnl 5 and do lots of funny stuff together. Not forgetting, the exchange of presents!!! hahaha....Thats what we kids are most excited of. Then when it reached around midnight, we would set off going home. That is how i celebrated chirstmas(:

Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world.

It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery.

The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines". Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards. .

In U.S, many people send Valentine's Day card. The man will spend more than double the money to buy gifts for women

In Singapore, lovers send each other gifts, to express their love. Sending cards in Singapore is relatively rare, most people have flowers or chocolate for their lover.

In England, many children dressed up as adults on Valentine's Day.They went singing from house to house. One verse they sang was:
    Good morning to you, valentine;
Curl your locks as I do mine ---
    Two before and three behind;
    Good morning to you, valentine.

There are many different legend of Valentine's day,the most femous one is:
It is said that the tyrant was forced enlistment of young men, men in order to evade military service, then the pretext of marriage. Angry tyrant, ordered a ban on marriage, or even not allowed to love, to force young men to join the army.

Valentine expressed deep sympathy for the lovers risking the auspices of a secret wedding. Later, things leak, put to death Valentine was arrested. The world in order to commemorate the heroic acts of Valentine, on instructions from him as the patron saint of lovers, and his Martyrdom Day - February 14 as "St. Valentine Day", after years of circulation, into today's Valentine's Day .

My family and I are Chinese hence we celebrate Chinese New Year (CNY). Of course, children are the one who seriously enjoy this festival where we get to haf alot of advantage such as buying new clothes, eating new year goodies such as pineapple tart, chocolates, sweets and not forgetting our Bah Kua... And the best of all is to receive red packets. $.$
It my family tradition to eat steamboat (prepared by my aged granny and aunties) for dinner for CNY eve (YUM YUM). As my family is rather big, we dun sit down and eat together. Instead we eat in round.... Then after all of us finish our dinner, we play the 'high-high, low-low' game where cards are place upside down, no. facing table-top in a pyramid way then after opening the 1st card, we will haf to guess whether the next card haf a higher or lower value than than the last opened card. Whoever can finish the game by guessing all cards correctly will get a lucky dip and we get stuff like Hello Panda biscuit, Milo packet and CASH up till $2 only la... I dun haf luck so most of the time, i end up with the least amount of money and presents...
We stop the game at 12 midnight sharp then go down to the void deck and play fire crackers...
Then after clearing the leftover of the fire cracker, we go back to our own homes and night night... FUN AND TIRING...
The rest of the days were bored as i stayed at home as i dun haf other relatives to visit... TV all day...
Then during the last day of CNY, we get to eat tang yuan and yu sheng... and that marks the end of my CNY celebration. ( Sob sob... end le...)
tang yuan soup, no more tang yuan..

Good Friday is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday or Black Friday as a commemoration of the death of Jesus Chirst and is followed by a Easter where it is believed that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day.

In Philippines, this day is specially celebrated. It is believed that if a person carries a wooden cross and repeat the whole process of how Jesus died on the cross, he and his family will be blessed and whatever he wishes will come true.

The person would stop eating the night before and quieten his heart as the proccess will be very tedieous.

The very next day, the person will wake up early and eat something light and normally his family will chat with him to make him feel better and not as tense. Then he will carry his cross half naked and walk to place where he will be nailed.

When some of the people get interviewed, they said that the nailing process is not as torturing as the part when they got hung(nailed) and being on the cross in the sun.

Miraculously, those involved said that after the whole process, they felt very peaceful and felt nearer to God as they were mostly praying when hanged to relieve the pain.
